Today we visited the ever so lovely Dover Castle.It is situated on top of a hill with beautiful views across the harbor and the small beach.
There are many places to visit in the actual grounds as it has been there now for over 9 centuries.
There are underground tunnels to explore, a light house and the actual castle. There is a lovely little road train which runs free of charge through out the grounds.
We went on a tour of the Medical underground which had a realistic sound effect of a air raid DS did not like this at all he cried and moaned he wanted to come out of the undergound. DD how ever loved it and walked round looking at everything. The items in the undergound have been there since the war!
It amazes me that they have just been left after all this time and still look as good as new! (Yes the newspapers were a tad faded!)
There was people dressed up from medieval times and getting the visitors engaged in the castle.
I also have to say it is so BUGGY and WHEELCHAIR friendly!!!!
Will be going again soon!
